Junior Secondary Programme

Year 7 to Year 9

Relationships matter

The connection between teachers and students sits at the heart of everything we do. Our Heads of Year and Homeroom teachers remain with their cohort throughout Junior Secondary, building strong, consistent relationships over time. This continuity allows staff to truly know each student, their strengths, their challenges, and how best to support them, while also developing meaningful partnerships with families.

Joy matters

We believe school should be a place where students genuinely enjoy each day. Through experiences such as our Junior Secondary Challenge Cup and our House Programme, students build friendships, develop a sense of belonging, and connect beyond the classroom. These shared moments create energy, pride, and fun, because when students are smiling, they are more open to learning.

Voice and choice matter

From Year 7, students begin to shape their own learning journey. Our broad elective programme offers opportunities across Music, Drama, The Arts, Design and Digital Technologies, Sports Academies, Textiles, Hospitality, and even Fishing. This choice allows students to explore their interests, discover new passions, and feel a greater sense of ownership over their learning.

And when we get these right, learning thrives

Adolescence is a time of significant change, and our programme is designed to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. With strong relationships, genuine enjoyment, and opportunities for choice, students develop confidence, curiosity, and the ability to think deeply.

Our Junior Secondary years are more than a transition, they are a launchpad. Here, students are known, supported, and inspired to grow into capable, connected young people.
