Top of the Class for 2020

Our 2020 Year 12 students received their final school results through the ATAR system late last year and we could not be any prouder of their achievements. The ATAR system which was rolled out for the first time has replaced the old OP system and brings QLD into line with the rest of Australia.

“We are incredibly proud of our 2020 Year 12 graduates who performed so well with their studies,” said Dr  Mark Sly, College Principal. “They have been very resilient.  Not only were they the first cohort who obtained their ATAR score, but they also did this under a world health pandemic”

The recently released results show that 23% of CAC students achieved an ATAR above 90, which is outstanding. Our top three students achieved ATARs above 99. This means they performed better than 99% of Year 12 students.

Dux for 2020 was Max Brown whose ATAR of 99.8 places him among the top performers in the state. Max will commence an Aeronautical Engineering course at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra in the next two weeks. He was closely followed by Connor Fellows (99.65) and Emily Durant (99.45), both of whom hope to study Medicine at Griffith University.

In a year of much change, uncertainty, and disruption, our students have performed exceptionally well and have done themselves, their families, and the College proud. Congratulations to all 2020 graduates. University offers will be released from 14 January.
