Coomera Anglican College operates its own Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care facility for children from Preparatory to Year 7. We are licensed under the Childcare Act 2002 and Child Care Regulation 2003 which means we comply with all requirements with regard to children's activities, experiences and programmes, staff/child ratios and staff qualifications. We are also accredited under the Federal Government system which ensures that we provide a quality service.
Our programmes are carefully planned to cater for the children attending based on the needs and interests of children and parent feedback. The programme includes structured and non-structured activities covering arts/crafts, music and movement, physical outdoor play, problem solving games, computers/laptop/playstation, homework, imaginative and dramatic play, books, multicultural activities and construction. The Vacation Care programme also includes excursions and visiting performers and workshops.
Afternoon Tea is served each day at 4.15pm with a varied nutritious menu that always includes some fruit. No nut products are served as the College is a 'nut free' zone.
The co-ordinator is Diploma qualified with most other staff currently studying a Bachelor of Education. All staff hold Blue Cards and First Aid Certificates. The facility operates with a staff/child ratio is 1 staff member to every 15 children whilst in the centre. Whilst on excursion there is 1 staff member to every 8 children.
